Q:During the epidemic, there are many doctors online who can provide medical advice to residents. This way, many residents can avoid going to the hospital. But some people have to go to the hospital, even though they don’t have a fever. How should non-fever patients protect themselves while going to the hospital?
A: Zhang Liubo is an expert with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. He gives six tips regarding this matter:
First, patients without fever should try to avoid going to the fever clinic.
Second, before going to the hospital, use the online registration or appointment service to reduce the waiting time in the hospital.
Third, when going to the hospital, be sure to wear a mask above the level of a surgical or a medical surgical mask.
Fourth, it is best not to touch items and surfaces in the hospital with your hands, and to make as little contact as possible.
Fifth, it is best to carry hand disinfectants. When touching these public facilities, leaving the hospital, or before touching your mouth, eyes and nose, remember to clean your hands.
