The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus in Greece staged Greek drama “The Persians” by Aeschylus. First written and staged some 2,500 years ago, “The Persians” is considered the oldest surviving drama. The show was broadcast live to a global audience online, marking the first time the venue has done so. The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is one of the best preserved ancient theatres in Greece, constructed in the late 4th century BC. Although outdoor performances have resumed in Greece, indoor venues are still closed due to the pandemic.
