Two Chinese and American professors, Wang Yiwei and Mahoney, gather in Wuqi and Yan'an to talk about "the Long March today." Ten years ago the sky was filled with loess; now it has become a greenery place in the north Shaanxi," and Nangou Village has grown from a single tree into lush mountains with forests. Back then the Red Army climbed over ridges to find a way forward; today China has moved from "disconnected and unconnected" to "interconnected and interoperable." Yan'an girl Liu Yutong once dreamed of taking her grandmother out of Yan'an by high-speed rail — and now her dream has come true. Every generation has its own Long March — as Prof. Wang Yiwei puts it, by helping the Global South stand up and achieve modernization.
