One Thing That AI Cannot Replace | 人工智能无法取代的是？|人工智能|毛里求斯|明信片

　　When was the last time that you put pen to paper and wrote a personal note to someone?

　　你上一次提笔给别人留言是什么时候呢？

　　For me, it was two months ago, on the last day of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2023 in Davos, Switzerland. The conference center was bustling with activities, but I was tucked away in a quiet corner with a stack of panda-inspired postcards that I had brought from Chengdu.

　　对我来说，那是两个月前，在瑞士达沃斯举行的世界经济论坛2023年年会的最后一天。会议中心热闹非凡，而我呆在一个安静的角落里，拿着一叠从成都带来的熊猫主题明信片。

　　Writing these postcards was a way for me to connect with the other 50 fellow youth representatives from all over the world, whom I had the pleasure of meeting and working with during the five-day event.

　　写这些明信片是我与其他50位来自世界各地来参会的青年代表建立链接的一种方式，在为期五天的活动中，我有幸与他们共事。

　　With each note, I expressed my gratitude for this incredible shared experience and my admiration for their work in driving solutions to global challenges like climate change, refugee crises, education inequality, etc. The effort was about building lasting personal connections, which sits at the heart of the work I do as an entrepreneur, community builder, and content creator.

　　通过手写明信片，我对这段共同的难忘经历表达谢意，并为他们在推动解决气候变化、难民危机和教育不平等等全球挑战方面的工作表达我的钦佩之情。我希望通过这样的方式建立个人链接，而这也是我作为创业者、社区建设者和内容创作者的核心。

　　We live in a fast-changing world where technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace. In light of ChatGPT, Bill Gates recently claimed,"The Age of AI has begun."

　　我们生活在一个快速变化的世界，技术正以前所未有的速度发展。随着ChatGPT问世，比尔-盖茨最近声称，"人工智能时代已经开启"。

　　From self-driving cars to virtual assistants, AI is transforming the way we live, work, and communicate. In fact, AI helped me create this particular image (the "tree of connections" in the slide above) and polish my script for this talk. But despite all these advances, there is one thing that AI cannot replace: human connection.

　　从自动驾驶汽车到虚拟助手，人工智能正在深刻改变我们的生活、工作和沟通方式。事实上，人工智能帮助我设计了这张PPT所用的图片，并为我今天的分享内容进行润色。尽管有这些进步，有一件事还是人工智能无法取代的：人与人之间的链接。

　　You see, AI systems are only as good as the data they are trained on and the algorithms they use. Yes, they indeed have all the available data on the internet and the most sophisticated algorithms, but they have very limited access to the unique ideas, perspectives, and stories of individuals. I'd argue that, through meaningful personal connections, we are able to acquire life insights in a way that goes beyond data and algorithms.

　　你看，人工智能系统受限于用于训练的数据和使用的算法。没错，他们确实拥有互联网上所有可用的数据和最精密的算法，但他们对个人的独特想法、观点和故事的获取是非常有限的。我认为，通过有意义的个人链接，我们能够以一种超越数据和算法的方式洞察人生。

　　I believe human connections can help push"the Boundaries of Knowing", which is a framework I created to visualize the limitations in our knowledge systems.

　　我也相信这样的链接可以真正帮助推动“知识的边界”，这是我创作的一个框架，以可视化我们知识体系的局限性。

　　First, there are things we know we know - like our own name.Then, there are things we think we know but actually don't - these might be outdated knowledge that doesn't apply to the new reality.Thirdly, there are things we know we don't know, like we've heard about quantum computing, but we would admit we don't know the intricacies of it.And finally,we don't know what we don't know.There are things we don't even know about their very existence. Let me ask, has anyone of you heard about the underwater waterfall? Well, there is one, in the beautiful Mauritius.

　　I learned about this hidden gem along with other fascinating things about the country thanks to Chitra, one of the 50 youth representatives I met in Davos. And she is from Mauritius.

　　我能了解到这个秘境以及这个国家迷人的方方面面，都有赖于Chitra，她是我在达沃斯所遇到的毛里求斯青年代表。

　　This makes a big difference. So next time, when I read about Mauritius, I'll have a more personal and meaningful perspective because I have a friend there whom I hope to visit one day.By connecting with real people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, we can better understand the world through their unique and authentic experiences, rather than relying on attention-seeking and sensationalized news headlines, soon powered by AI.

　　这样的链接会有深远的影响，所以下次当我读到关于毛里求斯，我会有一个更个人化和有意义的视角，因为在那里我有一位期待拜访的朋友。通过这样与来自不同背景和文化的真实人联系，我们可以通过他们独特而真实的经历更好地理解世界，而不是依赖那些（将由AI生成的）耸人听闻的“标题党”。

　　Most people in Mauritius speak a minimum of three languages, so does Chitra and now she's adding a new one! She's been learning Chinese and she showed me this Chinese poem she had copied out by hand.

　　大多数毛里求斯人至少会说三门语言，Chitra也是一样，而她又在增添一门新的语言！她在学习中文并给我看了她抄写的中文古诗。

　　The poem's message is timeless — "海内存知己，天涯若比邻" If you have a friend afar who knows your heart, distance cannot keep you two apart. We can all draw great inspiration and wisdom from this ancient verse, as it stays true and becomes even more important in the age of AI.

　　“海内存知己，天涯若比邻”，这首诗的寓意是永恒的，我们都可以从这首古老的诗句中获得巨大的灵感和智慧，因为则句话在今天仍旧适用，并在人工智能的时代变得更为重要。

　　Don't get me wrong though. AI will sure have its place as an indispensable tool in our life. But I believe it can never replace the depth and emotions of handwriting like this, or a smile, a hug, and essentially human connection.

　　人工智能还是会有它的一席之地，成为我们生活中不可或缺的工具。但我相信它永远无法取代像这样流露于文字、或是一个微笑和拥抱的情感和深度，以及本质上 —— 人与人之间的链接。
